In this reimagined staging of Aristophanes `The Frogs`, disillusioned God Dionysus and his sharp tongued servant Xanthias, cross divided 1980s Berlin on a surreal quest to rescue art from decay. Venturing into the electrified chaos of West Berlin’s underground, a surreal underworld pulsing with rebellion and strange encounters, Dionysus faces rival artists battling for cultural truth. As master and servant trade roles…multiple times! Dionysus and Xanthias slip through neon lit tunnels and abandoned checkpoints in graffiti splashed East Berlin, to judge a contest between rival playwrights and confront his own doubts. All while wearing leather boots and a fur coat…of course!
