Box Office Opening Times

In Person
The Box Office is open 1 hour prior to a performance until 15 minutes after the start of the performance. In person service is available from our Box Office at The Crescent Theatre.

Visiting

The Old Rep is on Station Street across the road from the Southside entrance to New Street Station/Grand Central.

The step free entrance is located on Hinckley Street to the rear of the Station Street entrance.

Please note that we have no cloakroom facilities. Please avoid bringing bulky items to the theatre as they will not be permitted into the auditorium and will be left at the owner’s risk.

By Bicycle

There is a cycle hub at New Street Station (on Hill Street by the Drop and Go entrance).  Usage must be pre-arranged via Transport for West Midlands

By Car

The Old Rep is inside the Clean Air Zone (CAZ). To check if your vehicle can enter the CAZ for free, visit the Government’s vehicle check site.

There are many car parks in the vicinity of The Old Rep, including:

By Train

Birmingham New Street is our nearest station, accessed by the Southside entrance. The Old Rep is just a 10 minute walk from Moor Street and 12 minute walk from Snow Hill. Full details for train travel can be found on the National Rail website.

By Bus

Buses 35, 45, 47, 16, 16A, 25 and 80 stop on Station Street opposite the theatre. Bus stops around New Street station and Bull Ring Markets are all within a 5 minute walk and stops near the Moor Street Interchange are just a 10 minute walk. By Tram

The closest tram stop is Grand Central (Birmingham New Street Station), which is an easy 2 minute walk from the theatre across the concourse of New Street Station to the Southside exit. Trams run between Edgbaston Village and Wolverhampton with a stop at Birmingham Snow Hill Station (Bull Street). For details and journey planning, please visit Network West Midlands.

Wheelchair Users and Patrons with Limited Mobility

If you require step free access, please use the Hinckley Street entrance.

The Balcony is only accessible by stairs. Please do not book seats here if you require step free access.

We have two wheelchair positions on the front row of the stalls. Please speak to our Box Office to book these seats by calling 0121 643 5858.

Accessible Toilet

There is an accessible toilet in the Hinckley Bar.

Hearing Loop

The auditorium is fitted with a hearing loop. Please let us know in advance if you require use of the hearing loop and we will provide details of how to collect a receiver.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome at The Old Rep and we can supply water if required. Please contact the Box Office for assistance in selecting the most appropriate seats for you and your assistance dog.

Due to the nature of some of the events at The Old Rep, there may be loud noises, gunshots, smoke, haze, strobe and other effects that may distress your assistance dog. We are happy to care for your dog away from the performance after you are seated. Please let us know in advance.

Babies and Children

No pushchairs or prams are permitted inside the auditorium.

Pushchairs and prams can be collapsed and stored at your own risk in the Hinckley Bar, but due to the age of the building, storage space is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis. We ask that all patrons avoid bringing pushchairs and prams if at all possible. Please speak to the Duty Manager immediately upon arrival if you need to store your pushchair or pram.

There are baby changing facilities in the accessible toilet in the Hinckley Bar.

Babes in arms (children under 18 months unless otherwise stated at the time of booking) will only be admitted to performances that are specifically aimed for them. Where babes in arms are permitted they shall be admitted free of charge to sit on an adults lap; they will not be allocated their own seat.

Relaxed Performances

Some of the events at The Old Rep offer relaxed performances. This is not possible for every event and details of relaxed performances are available in the show listings in our What’s On section. Please note that some relaxed performances can only be booked by calling the Box Office or visiting us in person.

Restricted View Seating

There are some restricted view seats in the galleries of the Main House that are available for some performances. They are labelled as Rows X and Z on the diagram. Please contact the Box Office if you have any questions about these seats.

Where can I view your seating plan?

To view the seating plan for the event you are interested in, please visit the booking page of the event. Please note that some events may be sold as unreserved and therefore may not have a visible seating plan.

I should have received my e-tickets via email but I cannot see them in my inbox. What can I do?

Please check your junk or spam folder for your tickets, as tickets can sometime end up in there. Tickets are sent from the email address boxoffice@oldrep.co.uk and will have the subject heading of “Old Rep Theatre – Print at Home Ticket”. If you can’t find them don’t worry – we are happy to resend or arrange for tickets to be available to collect at the box office. To request this please contact us.

You can access e-tickets at any time by logging into your account.

Do you have a car park?

The Old Rep Theatre does not have its own car park although there are multiple nearby car parks.

What time should I arrive?

The theatre’s main doors usually open 45 mins before the start of a performance. The doors to the auditorium usually open 15 minutes before.

What can I do if I lose an item during my visit at The Old Rep?

Personal items found in the theatre are stored safely for 3 weeks.

Do you offer work experience?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer work experience, however you can gain extensive experience in all aspects of working in theatre by joining our sister venue; The Crescent, as a member and working on our shows. You can also gain experience of working behind a bar and of stewarding as part of your membership. Membership details can be found here.

How old do you have to be to become a member of The Crescent Theatre?

Membership of the adult company is open to anyone aged 18 or older. People under the age of 18 can consider joining the Crescent Youth Theatre.
